Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Level Permitting Specialist to join our Mine Environment team in Boise, ID, with hybrid work flexibility. You will support permitting, baseline studies, and remediation for mining projects while mentoring junior staff and delivering high-quality technical reports.

The role requires strong regulatory knowledge, NEPA understanding, and effective communication with clients. Occasional travel and collaboration with global teams are expected as part of a dynamic environmental

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Geology, Biology, or related field with strong regulatory background.
  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience in natural resources, permitting, consulting, or related field.
  • Understanding of state and federal regulatory mining regulations and NEPA.
  • Knowledge of mining-related environmental practices and standards.
  • Experience delivering work products on time in a consulting setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication for reports and presentations.
  • Self-led, detail-oriented, able to multitask in a collaborative hybrid environment.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Support permitting strategy, baseline studies, operational support, and remediation for mining projects.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to project supervision and data interpretation.
  • Develop and deliver technical reports, memos, and client presentations.
  • Lead or support multiple projects within scope and budget requirements.
  • Plan and oversee field programs and integrate data into environmental assessments.
  • Foster client relationships and promote a safety-first culture.
