Job summary

HF Sinclair Corporation is seeking an experienced Process Controls Engineer in Dallas, TX to advance automation across midstream assets. You will design and optimize systems, standardize PLC/HMI apps, and lead controls projects from concept to delivery.

The role emphasizes work-life balance with planned hours and limited on-call requirements. 25% travel may be required to support field installations and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Controls Engineering, or relatedEngineering discipline.
• 8+ years of Automation, Controls, or Industrial Systems Engineering experience.
• 6+ years of PLC and HMI programming and deployment experience.
• 2+ years of Midstream Oil & Gas experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize end-to-end system integration solutions between field devices, PLCs, Terminal Management Systems (TMS), SCADA, OT applications, communication networks, and business systems.
• Standardize and improve PLC and HMI applications through flexible templates, reusable code, and engineering best practices.
• Apply, maintain, and improve control processes and version control systems.
• Serve as the automation and controls technical lead within projects from concept through safe, on-time delivery.
• Support risk management, commissioning, lifecycle management, cross-functional coordination, and hazardous area considerations.
• Evaluate and identify new technologies, processes, and ideas that enhance efficiency, reliability, and long-term maintainability of our assets.
• Develop technical documentation including logic diagrams, cause-and-effect matrices, control narratives, and wiring and termination drawings.
