Job summary

Bank of America in Newport Beach, CA is seeking an Underwriter for the Global Commercial Banking credit team to underwrite loans and credit exposure for middle market companies with revenues from $50 million to $2 billion in the Southern California region.

You will collaborate with Relationship Management, Risk, Debt Capital Markets and other product teams to analyze opportunities, structure transactions and monitor portfolios.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree required.
• 5+ Years of Commercial Banking underwriting experience.
• Proficiency in accounting principles, financial statement analysis and financial modeling.
• Solid foundation in credit analysis and capital structures.
• Understanding of credit documentation and related agreements.

Responsibilities

• Partner with credit teammates and product teams to develop strategic debt financing solutions.
• Structure bilateral and syndicated loans aligned with client needs and bank risk parameters.
• Analyze ancillary credit exposure for treasury, rates and FX products.
• Perform due diligence and dynamic risk assessments of borrowers, industries and transactions.
• Create credit approval packages and own the approval process from initiation through final decision.
• Construct detailed cash flow and repayment models, including sensitivity analyses.
• Complete enterprise value and risk rating models and ensure compliance with policies.
• Present opportunities to credit and risk leadership and coordinate documentation with Legal teams.
