Job summary

Bank of America is seeking an experienced Underwriter to join the Global Commercial Banking credit team in the Clayton, MO market. You will underwrite loans for middle-market clients, analyze credit exposure, and work with Relationship Management and product teams on strategic debt solutions.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree required.
• 5 to 10 years of Commercial Banking underwriting experience.
• Proficiency in accounting principles, financial statement analysis and financial modeling.
• Strong credit analysis skills including business risk, industry trends and capital structures.
• Understanding of credit documentation (term sheets, credit agreements and ancillary docs).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple transactions.

Responsibilities

• Partner with credit teammates, relationship management and product teams to develop strategic debt financing solutions.
• Structure bilateral and syndicated loans aligned with client needs and bank risk parameters.
• Analyze ancillary credit exposure for treasury, rates and FX products.
• Perform due diligence and dynamic risk assessments of borrowers, industries and transactions.
• Create credit approval packages and manage the credit approval process from initiation to final decision.
• Construct cash flow & repayment models with sensitivity analyses.
• Complete enterprise value (DCCF), pricing, returns and risk rating models.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory and internal policies and procedures.
• Exercise approval authority for certain credit actions.
• Present well-supported opportunities to credit and risk leadership.
• Collaborate with internal and external legal partners to complete loan documentation.
• Oversee quarterly monitoring exercises and requirements.
