Job summary

Bank of America is seeking an Underwriter on the Global Commercial Banking credit team to assess loans and credit exposure for a portfolio of middle market companies with revenues from $50 million to $2 billion in the Tampa, Orlando, and Jacksonville markets.

You will partner with Relationship Management, Debt Capital Markets, Investment Banking and product teams to analyze opportunities, build cash flow and credit models, and own the credit approval process from initiation to final decision.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree required; 3–10 years in Commercial Banking underwriting.
• Proficiency in accounting principles, financial statement analysis and financial modeling.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; attention to detail; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner with credit teammates and product teams to develop debt financing solutions.
• Structure bilateral and syndicated loans aligned with client needs and risk parameters.
• Analyze ancillary credit exposure for treasury, rates and foreign exchange products.
• Perform due diligence and dynamic risk assessments of borrowers, industries and transactions.
• Create credit approval packages and manage the credit approval process from initiation through final decision.
• Construct financial cash flow and repayment models, including sensitivity analyses.
• Complete enterprise value (discounted cash flow), pricing, returns and risk rating models.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory and internal policies and procedures.
• Exercise approval authority for certain credit actions.
• Present well supported opportunities to credit and risk leadership.
• Collaborate with internal and external legal partners to complete loan documentation.
• Oversee quarterly monitoring exercises and requirements.
