Job summary

Bank of America is seeking an experienced Underwriter for its Global Commercial Banking credit team. You will underwrite loans and credit exposure for middle market companies with revenues from $50 million to $2 billion, across Houston, Dallas and Clayton markets.

The role requires close collaboration with Relationship Management, Debt Capital Markets and other product teams. You will analyze lending opportunities, perform portfolio monitoring, and prepare comprehensive credit approval packages

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree required.
• 3 to 10 years of Commercial Banking underwriting experience.
• Proficiency in accounting principles, financial statement analysis and financial modeling.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Unwavering attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
• Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple transactions and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Partner with credit teammates, relationship management and product teams to develop strategic debt financing solutions.
• Employ credit and accounting knowledge to structure bilateral and syndicated loans.
• Analyze ancillary credit exposure for treasury, rates and foreign exchange products.
• Perform due diligence and dynamic risk assessments of borrowers, industries and transactions.
• Create credit approval packages and own the credit approval process from initiation through final decision.
• Construct detailed financial cash flow and repayment models, including sensitivity analyses.
• Complete enterprise value and pricing models and assess risk ratings.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory and internal policies and procedures.
• Exercise approval authority for certain credit actions.
• Present opportunities to credit and risk leadership with supporting data.
• Partner with legal to complete loan documentation.
