Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Microservices Technical Lead in a hybrid role based in Buffalo Grove, IL or Richardson, TX. You will lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise microservices, mentor teams, and coordinate across onsite and offshore groups.

Responsibilities include architecture design reviews, RESTful services with Spring Boot, and applying distributed systems patterns. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience leading projects as a Technical Lead in Middleware/J2EE environments
• 2+ years hands-on experience leading microservices projects

Responsibilities

• Participate in requirements discussions with client and project stakeholders
• Design, develop, and maintain microservices-based applications
• Lead and mentor developers on coding standards and patterns
• Track milestones and provide status updates to leadership
• Present architectural designs in governance and design reviews
• Coordinate activities across onsite and offshore teams and facilitate scrum ceremonies
• Identify risks and drive resolution through escalation processes
• Develop RESTful services using Spring Boot and microservices architecture
• Implement business logic and integration using Apache Camel
• Apply microservice design patterns and Business Delegate patterns
• Develop DTO, DAO, Service, Controller, and Utility layers
• Create and run JUnit tests for quality and automation
• Maintain Maven dependencies and version consistency
• Implement non-blocking I/O for performance
• Configure logging with Fluentd and monitor with Sleuth
• Design API error handling and resiliency practices
