Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a senior engineer to design scalable Springboot microservices and Java-based full stack commerce solutions. You will guide end-to-end architecture across backend and frontend, define service contracts, and ensure performance, reliability, and security in a hybrid Sunnyvale environment.

Collaborate with product stakeholders to optimize transaction throughput and customer experience, drive best practices, and maintain documentation for distributed teams.

Qualifications

• Advanced Springboot microservices design for high-volume transactions in enterprise environments.
• Strong proficiency in Java-based full stack engineering for commerce platforms.
• Experience with API design and data modeling for distributed services.
• Hands-on testing frameworks, build tools, and version control for reliable delivery.
• Performance tuning, caching, and asynchronous processing techniques.
• Security practices for production transaction flows and data protection.
• Containerized deployments and cloud-ready architectures aligned with standards.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable, resilient architectures using Springboot microservices and Java full stack solutions.
• Guide end-to-end solution design across backend and frontend for commerce flows.
• Define service contracts and data flows to enable modular development and future expansion.
• Review designs and code for architectural alignment, security, and best practices.
• Collaborate with product owners to translate commerce requirements into technical architectures.
• Promote coding patterns, testing strategies, and observability practices.
• Coordinate with infrastructure for deployment pipelines and environment config.
• Evaluate new tools and patterns to improve developer productivity and reduce risk.
• Provide reference implementations for robust APIs and secure integrations.
• Analyze performance metrics and identify bottlenecks for optimization.
• Document architectural decisions and integration patterns for distributed teams.
• Support incident analysis with architectural insights to reduce recurring issues.
