Job summary

AMD is seeking a Senior Verification Engineer to lead functional verification for high-performance processors. You will design verification infrastructure, write C/C++ test programs, and drive regression and tape-out readiness across RTL and architecture teams.

You will work hands-on in a hands-on role, shaping technical strategy and mentoring peers while ensuring coverage and quality across multi-site programs. This role is onsite in Fishkill, NY or Fort Collins, CO.

Qualifications

• Extensive verification experience on high-performance processors or ASIC/SoC designs.
• Expert C++ programming for production-quality verification software.
• Deep experience with C++-based verification: models, checkers, and large-scale simulation infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of CPU architecture, including out-of-order pipelines and memory hierarchies.
• Track record of driving tape-out programs with clean metrics.

Responsibilities

• Own functional verification of high-performance microprocessor designs from block level through full-chip integration.
• Design and build sophisticated verification infrastructure: behavioral reference models, transaction-level checkers, scoreboards, and simulation frameworks at chip scale.
• Write advanced C and assembly test programs that exercise architectural corner cases.
• Drive regression quality and defect convergence to tape-out standards — 99%+ pass rates and clean coverage.
• Serve as the technical authority in architecture reviews and tape-out readiness assessments.
• Identify verification risk early and present mitigation plans to design and program teams.
• Share knowledge through code reviews, design discussions, and mentorship.
• Build tools and automation to improve team velocity and verification confidence.
• Collaborate across RTL, DFT, physical design, and architecture teams at multiple sites.
