Job summary

Eurofins USA Food Testing in Missouri is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor for the microbiology department. The role supports daily operations, supervises staff, and ensures timely, accurate analyses of client samples in a controlled QA environment.

The position requires 5+ years of lab experience with 2+ years in supervision, and entails promoting company standards, maintaining equipment, and coordinating instrument repairs. Shift options include Monday–Friday or Tuesday–Saturday, 11am–6:30pm.

Qualifications

• HS diploma plus 5+ years laboratory experience.
• 2+ years supervisory experience in related field.
• Experience in microbiology and quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates and promotes the company vision.
• Regular attendance and punctuality.
• Assist the Business Unit Manager in managing daily operations of the microbiology department including scheduling, supervising, instructing, monitoring, and assisting in the performance of manual and instrumental analyses
• Perform timely and accurate analysis of samples to meet customer commitments.
• Has authority to execute a work stoppage in the event of a quality issue that would require the lab to stop operations until investigation gives assurance that work can begin
• Work with direct supervisor or director to commence work as a result of a work stoppage
• Use appropriate quality measures, which meet or exceed the standards, set by government regulations, and company requirements
• Promote the company image through ethical business practices
• Understand and follow Quality System documents relevant to responsibilities
• Perform microbiological testing on client samples using appropriate instruments and techniques
• Troubleshoot equipment/instruments and perform minor repairs
• Coordinate major instrument repairs with repair person(s) and local quality representative
• Establish and implement procedures to ensure proper cleaning, calibration/standardization, and maintenance of equipment
• Maintains records for quality control results
• Review and evaluate test data for technical accuracy and SOP compliance
• Investigate non-conformances and implement corrective actions
• Review and validate technical data for reporting
• Train and evaluate assigned technical staff
• Remain current on technical advancements
• Maintain readiness to respond to client needs
• Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Conduct all activities safely and efficiently
