Job summary

Chemring Energetic Devices in Downers Grove, IL seeks a Senior Metrologist to lead metrology programs and calibration systems for accuracy and reliability. You will develop calibration schedules, SOPs, and documentation to ensure compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in metrology, extensive PC-DMIS experience, and QA exposure in regulated environments. The role includes a comprehensive benefits package and a 9/80 work schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required.
• Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Minimum 5 years in Metrology.
• Minimum 5 years CMM Programming (PC-DMIS).
• Minimum 3 years in QA in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute measurement of material in CMM across departments, providing metrology guidance.
• Escalate and resolve metrology issues with Engineering and Supply Chain; cross-functional problem solving.
• Create programs for CMM equipment; evaluate effectiveness and performance.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Quality to resolve manufacturing challenges; ensure QMS compliance.
• Interpret data, troubleshoot measurement issues, develop innovative solutions.
• Support supplier source inspections per process definitions.
• Support supplier quality activities (inspection techniques, drawings, vendor data).
• Monitor work and escalate concerns to QA leadership; ensure QMS compliance.
• Lead compliance with customer/industry requirements for inspection, design or assembly.
• Understand customer inspection/documentation expectations.
• Initiate and close non-conformance reports with supervisor/manager.
