Job summary

RTX in El Segundo, CA, is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer for Test and Validation to lead metrology calibration across the Surveillance organization. The role emphasizes accuracy, regulatory compliance, and strong data analysis to ensure system performance and product quality.

The successful candidate will develop calibration procedures, perform uncertainty analyses, and collaborate with engineering teams. Occasional travel may be required; hybrid work is supported.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree with 8+ years of experience, or an advanced degree with 5+ years of experience.
• Experience with calibration in a metrology or quality management environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with personnel across the Surveillance organization to execute equipment calibrations and provide metrology support.
• Collect and analyze measurement data to verify adherence to technical specifications and quality criteria; prepare calibration reports.
• Develop and authorize calibration procedures ensuring accuracy, repeatability, and compliance with industry standards and contractual obligations.
• Conduct uncertainty analysis to assess adequacy and reliability of calibration processes.
• Evaluate and fulfill Raytheon’s calibration requirements to maintain production support and operational efficiency.
