Job summary

DL Metal Design (DLM) seeks a leadership-level Project Manager to oversee complex miscellaneous and ornamental metal projects from kickoff to closeout. You will mentor an Assistant Project Manager and coordinate with detailing, shop, and field teams to ensure on-time installation and project success.

The role offers exposure to diverse commercial construction projects across the region, with a potential hybrid work arrangement for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–10 years of construction project management experience.
• Extensive knowledge of miscellaneous and ornamental metal fabrication, detailing, and field installation.
• Proven ability to independently manage multiple commercial construction projects.
• Strong reading of architectural and structural drawings, specs, shop drawings, and contract documents.
• Proven experience managing project budgets, costs, profitability, and risk.
• Strong understanding of change orders, scheduling, procurement, and subcontractor coordination.
• Leadership experience supervising or mentoring junior project managers or coordinators.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with general contractors, architects, engineers, and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage multiple miscellaneous and ornamental metal projects from kickoff through installation and closeout.
• Develop, implement, and monitor project schedules for detailing, procurement, fabrication, and installation milestones.
• Review contract documents and drawings to identify challenges, discrepancies, and scope gaps.
• Coordinate shop drawings with the Detailing Management team for accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate fabrication priorities with shop management and field crews.
• Attend project meetings with general contractors and other trades; conduct field visits and measurements.
• Manage closeout requirements including punch lists, final documentation, and contractual obligations.
• Monitor costs against budgets and identify overruns or margin concerns.
• Provide updates to executives on schedule, financials, changes, risks, and challenges.
• Escalate significant issues with recommended solutions.
