Job summary

The City of Atlanta, GA, is seeking an Airport Server Engineer to provide hands-on support for the email messaging infrastructure, including Exchange Server, Teams, and Office 365. You will design, implement, and maintain secure, highly available messaging solutions while aligning with enterprise standards.

Responsibilities include AD integration, MFA, server security, DR planning, and leading deployments of new capabilities across the messaging environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering with nine years of related experience preferred.
• Five years of specific virtual server experience.
• Preferred certifications: MCSA, MCSE, MCTS, MCITP for Exchange/Teams/Office 365.
• Strong ITIL knowledge; certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on administration for messaging systems including Exchange, Office 365, and Teams.
• Integrate Microsoft technologies with Active Directory and MFA across networks.
• Install, maintain and secure Windows Server environments and related systems.
• Support high-availability and disaster recovery configurations for Microsoft services.
• Diagnose mail routing issues and Office 365 problems; test and resolve outages.
• Oversee on‑premises and cloud servers; manage resource allocation and upgrades.
• Develop and implement disaster recovery plans and backup strategies.
