Job summary

Synechron is seeking a System Engineer to manage enterprise email infrastructure in Charlotte, NC, focusing on messaging technologies, Proofpoint Cloudmark, and SMTP routing on Linux servers. You will administer, monitor, and troubleshoot mail flow, deliverability, and security, analyze logs for root causes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production environments.

We are seeking a System Engineer with expertise in messaging systems, Proofpoint Cloudmark, Linux administration, and SMTP routing. The candidate will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting enterprise email infrastructure while ensuring high availability, security, and optimal performance.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $90k - $95k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

• Administer and support enterprise messaging and email infrastructure.

Requirements:

• Strong experience with Messaging Technologies and email systems.
• Hands-on experience with Proofpoint Cloudmark.
• Good understanding of SMTP Routing, email flow, and mail gateway configurations.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of DNS, MX records, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
• Experience with monitoring, system performance tuning, and production support.

Preferred, but not required:

• Scripting experience using Shell, Python, or Bash.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Familiarity with email security and anti-spam technologies.
• Experience in a 24x7 support environment.
