Job summary
Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to lead MES design and architecture for satellite and factory production systems. You will set the technical vision, drive scalable, secure MES capabilities, and mentor engineers across domains including software, hardware, and automation.
You will own architectural roadmaps, enforce coding standards, and collaborate with product, security, and operations teams to deliver reliable, high-availability MES
Qualifications
- 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 5 years of programming with at least one software language.
- 5 years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of MES software systems powering satellites and manufacturing lines.
- Own the technical vision and long-term roadmap for MES capabilities with scalability, reliability, and security.
- Define and enforce engineering best practices, coding standards, and operational excellence.
- Architect end-to-end system capabilities for manufacturing orchestration and integration with ERP/PLM.
- Lead design reviews, trade-off discussions, and high-judgment decisions balancing speed, cost and maintainability.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers; raise the technical bar through reviews and guidance.
- Drive technical deep dives to resolve production issues and cross-service dependencies.
- Design telemetry, observability, and monitoring frameworks to ensure system health.
- Own deployment pipelines, disaster recovery, and incident response processes.
- Lead upgrades, migrations, and new capability deployments across production environments.
