Job summary

Amazon Leo is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to lead MES design and architecture for satellite production lines. You will shape technical direction, mentor engineers, and collaborate across software, hardware, networks, RF, and automation teams to deliver scalable MES capabilities.

You will own the MES roadmap, enforce engineering standards, and ensure secure, compliant operations across global manufacturing sites while driving improvements in observability and deployment

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of systems.
• Experience as a mentor or tech lead on engineering teams.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and architecture of MES software for satellite production lines.
• Own technical vision and long-term architectural roadmap for MES capabilities.
• Define and enforce engineering best practices, coding standards, and operational excellence across MES teams.
• Architect end-to-end capabilities for manufacturing orchestration with ERP/PLM and shop floor systems.
• Lead design reviews, trade-off discussions, and high-judgment decisions balancing speed, quality, and maintainability.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive code reviews and architecture reviews.
• Drive technical deep dives to resolve production issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Design telemetry, observability, and monitoring to enable data-driven decisions.
• Ensure operational readiness including pipelines, DR, and incident response.
• Design secure MES with rigorous compliance for facilities and contract manufacturing sites.
