Qualifications

• 5+ years of payments/merchant underwriting experience.
• Minimum 3 years managing high-risk/high-volume merchants.
• Experience analyzing credit reports and financial statements.
• Knowledge of card network high-risk monitoring and compliance.
• Ability to mentor junior underwriters and present to management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed credit/financial analysis of forward-delivery merchants.
• Evaluate forward-delivery risk exposure and recommend terms such as reserves.
• Prepare detailed reports and present findings to senior management.
• Mitigate risk with approval terms and periodic reviews.
• Provide recommendations for approval to higher management.
• Coordinate with transaction risk team to align decisions.
• Serve as escalation point for junior underwriters.
• Review QA of underwriting decisions.
• Assist in training new underwriters.
• Build relationships with sales partners, sponsor banks, and internal teams.
• Ensure underwriting activities comply with policy and regulations.
• Maintain records and proper documentation.
