Job summary

Barnes & Noble Education seeks a Sr. Merchandise Manager to lead assigned merchandise categories, drive sales growth, and optimize profitability across BNED's retail channels.

You will own category strategy, financial planning, assortment development, vendor partnerships, pricing, and promotional planning, while guiding a team of Buyers and Assistant Buyers. Collaborate with Marketing, Digital Commerce, Store Operations, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, Retail Management, Marketing, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Eight to ten years of progressive merchandising, buying, or category management experience within an omnichannel retail environment.
• Strong financial, analytical, and strategic business acumen with the ability to interpret data and drive profitable decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own the overall business strategy and financial performance for assigned merchandise categories, achieving sales and profitability objectives.
• Develop and execute merchandise strategies, seasonal assortments, pricing, and promotions.
• Lead assortment development across channels, store formats, regions, and price tiers to maximize engagement and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of merchandising strategies and campaigns.
