Job summary

Target, a leading retailer, is seeking a Senior Merchandise Planner to own the financials and forecasting for a major business unit in downtown Minneapolis. You will act as the hub between Merchandising and Supply Chain, building a financial link and influencing key decisions from a financial perspective.

You will lead open-to-buy, in-season decisions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize assortments and localization strategies while ensuring forecast accuracy and business

Qualifications

• Four-year degree or equivalent experience.
• 6-10 years of relevant experience.
• 4+ years of Merchandising experience.
• Strong strategic, financial, and analytical skills; can translate data into insights and recommendations.
• Strong collaboration skills to partner with cross-functional teams.
• Flexible, resilient and comfortable working in 'grey areas' that are constantly changing.

Responsibilities

• Lead forecast and financial planning for one of Target's businesses.
• Provide in-season decision support and lead open-to-buy planning.
• Collaborate with Merchandising, Supply Chain and Vendors on assortment strategies.
• Interpret forecast results and conduct scenario planning to guide recommendations.
• Ensure financial validity of assortments and communicate implications to stakeholders.
