Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Frederick, MD is seeking a seasoned Superintendent (Mechanical/Electrical) to lead MEPS trades on a major project. You will direct subcontractors, manage schedules, safety, QA/QC, and budget adherence while coordinating with owners, architects, and engineers on field issues.

Requires a bachelor’s degree or 4+ years in engineering/architecture and 6+ years in MEP construction; proficiency in BIM and MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or at least four years of formal engineering or architectural experience and a minimum of six years of mechanical/electrical/plumbing construction experience required, or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
• Knowledge of building construction, means and methods, scheduling and cost control procedures.
• Specific knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical Systems.
• Thorough knowledge of building information modeling and its use in coordination of the Mechanical and Electrical systems and other project systems.
• Proven written and verbal communication abilities; proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, direct and coordinate the work of subcontractors and Turner trade labor on MEPS systems.
• Manage scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control and staffing for the project.
• Maintain site safety program and ensure subcontractor compliance with Turner standards.
• Supervise Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers and interns; contribute to performance appraisals.
• Develop and implement recovery strategies to maintain schedule and budget.
• Coordinate with owners, architects and engineers on field issues and resolutions.
• Oversee billing, payrolls, invoices and subcontractor payments.
• Ensure work aligns with contract documents and approvals.
