Job summary

Turner Construction Company in the Washington, DC area seeks a Senior Superintendent – Mechanical-Electrical for the Fredericksburg project. You will lead supervision of subcontractors, coordinate MEP systems, ensure safety, schedule, and budget adherence on a complex construction site.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 4+ engineering/architectural years and at least 6 years of MEP construction experience; BIM coordination and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years engineering or architectural experience, plus 6+ years MEP construction.
• Knowledge of building means/methods, scheduling, cost control and contracts.
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems and BIM coordination.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; MS Office proficient.

Responsibilities

• Manage scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control and staffing.
• Coordinate trades to maintain project operations and resolve issues.
• Oversee site safety program and subcontractor safety compliance.
• Supervise Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers and interns.
• Ensure ethics and compliance in all activities.
• Create and adjust schedules; implement recovery strategies.
• Communicate with owners and architects/engineers on field issues.
• Manage billing, monthly estimates, payrolls, invoices and subcontractor payments.
• Ensure installed work conforms to contract documents.
• Coordinate mechanical and electrical system layouts with engineers.
• Lead inspections, commissioning, turnover and training for systems.
• Direct subcontractors and suppliers to meet plans and codes.
• Review project changes with the Project Engineer.
• Maintain daily MEPS progress records.
• Participate in preconstruction activities.
