Job summary

PowerSecure, a Southern Company subsidiary, is seeking a Project Manager to oversee construction projects, manage budgets and schedules, and lead teams on energy efficiency projects.

You will ensure safety, compliance with local codes, and strong communication with clients and stakeholders while optimizing resources and timelines. This role requires extensive PM experience in commercial/industrial construction and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: high school diploma or GED.
• 7+ years of managing government contracts.
• PMP certification preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of project management experience in commercial or industrial construction.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project).
• OSHA 30 certification; if lacking, training arranged by the employer.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, or cost tracking reports.
• Create, maintain, and follow a construction schedule assigning appropriate personnel to complete the project on schedule and within budget.
• Determine and advise on local laws concerning landfills, carting, local mechanical codes and permitting.
• Ensure safety practices are followed and the work is performed safely.
• Manage energy efficiency projects concurrently.
• Deliver performance evaluations for project foremen and technicians; discipline/train staff as needed.
• Maintain communications with clients, executives, subcontractors, code-enforcement agents, engineers, architects, and trades.
• Manage subcontractors per contract and onsite.
• Maintain a clean and safe work site with proper waste disposal.
• Inspect sites to identify equipment needs and plan work accordingly.
• Verify work quality and meeting customer expectations.
• Monitor materials usage and remaining stock.
• Maintain documentation and ensure timely deliverables.
• Procure storage facilities for project materials and equipment.
• Create and maintain Project Risk Plans.
• Oversee Project Quality Assurance.
