Job summary

PowerSecure, a Southern Company subsidiary, is seeking a Project Manager to oversee the construction of large and multi-discipline projects, including energy efficiency initiatives. You will manage material and labor to meet schedule and budget, guide project supervisors and technicians, and set an example of excellence in work and attitude on the site.

This role requires budgeting, progress reporting, risk planning, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High school diploma or GED is required.
• 7+ years of managing government contracts.
• PMP certification (preferred).
• Minimum of 6 years of project management experience in commercial or industrial construction.
• Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, etc.).
• OSHA 30

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, or cost tracking reports.
• Create, maintain, and follow a construction schedule assigning appropriate personnel to complete the project on schedule and within budget.
• Determine and advise as appropriate on all local laws concerning items such as landfills, carting companies, local mechanical codes and permitting.
• Ensure safety practices are followed and the work is performed in a safe productive manner.
• Possess the ability to efficiently manage multiple energy efficiency projects concurrently.
• Prepare and deliver performance evaluations for project foremen and technicians; when appropriate, discipline, train, and/or counsel assigned personnel.
• Maintain effective communications at all levels; to include internal and external resources.
• Manage subcontractors per contractually requirements, both internally and onsite.
• Maintain a clean and safe work site; proper recycling procedures, and waste disposal.
• Walk project sites to identify equipment and plan accordingly.
• Verify the correctness and quality of the work and ensure it fulfills customer expectations.
• Monitor, track, and maintain records of all materials utilized and remaining.
• Maintain documentation and ensure deliverables are executed timely.
• Procure storage facilities for project materials and equipment.
• Create and Maintain Project Risk Plans
• Oversee Project Quality Assurance Requirements.
