Job summary

Solid Rock Recruiting, LLC. is seeking a Project Director to lead large MEP/construction programs in Phoenix, AZ. The role focuses on strategy, execution, client relations, and financial performance from preconstruction through completion.

You will oversee complex mechanical systems, process piping, and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring safety, on-time delivery, and quality results in a senior leadership capacity.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of construction project management experience, leading large MEP projects.
• Strong background in mechanical construction and process piping.
• Experience with complex HVAC, plumbing, industrial, healthcare, manufacturing, or mission-critical projects.
• Proven ability to manage project financials and overall performance.
• Excellent leadership overseeing Project Managers and field teams.
• Solid understanding of contracts, scheduling, estimating, procurement, and change management.
• Strong client-facing and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership for large-scale MEP, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and process piping projects.
• Oversee project budgets, schedules, contracts, change orders, and profitability.
• Lead and mentor Project Managers, Superintendents, and project teams.
• Work closely with owners, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Provide strategic oversight of project planning, procurement, staffing, and execution.
• Review project scope, drawings, specifications, contracts, and financial performance.
• Identify and resolve major project risks, design issues, schedule concerns, and cost impacts.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide leadership during preconstruction and project planning.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality expectations.
• Drive accountability, communication, and continuous improvement across the project team.
