Job summary

CSL-Consulting in New Haven, CT is seeking an experienced Project Planner to support municipal planning, permitting, and design development for complex projects. You will work with permitting agencies to ensure submissions are prepared, presented, and approved to meet execution timelines.

You will advocate for client interests in regular meetings with municipal authorities, review architectural plans with Program Directors, and ensure adherence to design standards throughout the development

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Support project planning with permits agencies to meet timelines.
• Advocate for client interests in meetings with municipal authorities.
• Review architectural plans to support Program Directors.
• Ensure design standards are adhered to during development.
• Provide code and constructability reviews for Architectural discipline; coordinate plan reviews with other disciplines.
• Develop planning models based on department and institutional priorities.
• Resolve planning/technical conflicts; propose cost-effective options.
• Incorporate institutional objectives into departmental plans and projects.
• Prepare succinct presentations that distill complex issues for informed decisions.
• Provide guidance on planning/design issues, large-scale studies, and special facilities topics.
• Manage progress and quality of work from outside and in-house consultants.
• Act as primary contact among architects, consultants, building committees, and staff during planning.
• Advise on conformity with specifications, codes, regulations, and University Design Standards.
• Develop architectural program requirements.
• Develop project budgets including construction, consultant and equipment costs.
• Manage consultant selection and ensure planning phase stays within budget and schedule.
