Job summary

Fuss & O’Neill in New Haven, CT seeks an experienced Site Development Project Manager to lead site/civil engineering projects from concept through permitting and construction support. You’ll manage scopes, schedules, budgets, and mentor staff while collaborating with municipalities and clients.

The role requires strong design skills, PE license preferred, and ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams across diverse projects including housing, edu, commercial, and brownfields.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering preferred.
• 8+ years of site/civil engineering experience.
• Experience managing contracts, QA/QC, scheduling, and staff oversight.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Experience with local and state permitting requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D; HydroCAD preferred.
• Travel to client sites and attendance at town/city public meetings.

Responsibilities

• Managing site/civil engineering projects from initial scoping through design, permitting, and construction support.
• Developing project scopes, contracts, schedules, and budgets.
• Overseeing and mentoring engineering staff and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams in land development, stormwater management, and climate/flood resiliency.
• Preparing and reviewing site designs including layout, grading, utilities, erosion & sediment control, and site details.
• Designing stormwater management systems.
• Coordinating with municipal staff and attending Town/City public meetings.
• Participating in field meetings and site visits.
• Assisting with report preparation and local/state permit applications.
• Supporting business development efforts and maintaining strong client relationships.
