Job summary

Suffolk Construction is seeking a Senior MEP Estimator to lead full-cycle estimating for complex, large-scale projects, covering pre-construction, budgets, and buyouts. You will review drawings, perform detailed takeoffs, and develop robust cost models while guiding junior staff and coordinating with design and operations teams.

Ideal candidates have eight+ years in MEP/FP estimating, proficiency with On-Screen Takeoff or Bluebeam, and a strong understanding of codes and AHJ processes.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years of experience in MEP/FP estimating or related field.

• Proficiency with estimating software and cost databases.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptual to construction document level estimates for MEP/FP systems.
•  
• Perform detailed quantity take-offs and cost analyses.
•  
• Review drawings for completeness and constructability; identify gaps.
•  
• Develop trade partner bid lists and manage buyout process.
•  
• Support value engineering and cost-reduction efforts.
•  
• Collaborate with preconstruction, operations, and design teams.
•  
• Present estimates and cost narratives to clients and leadership.
•  
• Ensure compliance with energy and AHJ requirements.
•  
• Mentor junior estimators and improve estimating tools.
