Job summary

Suffolk Construction is seeking a Senior Estimator in the United States to lead the estimating of the most complex and large-scale jobs, including pre-construction, hard bids, budgets, and GMPs. The role involves coordinating with clients, designers, and subcontractors, leading a team of estimators, and performing value engineering and risk analysis.

The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of estimating experience, with strong skills in Excel and estimating software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of estimating experience or equivalent.
• Strong computer skills including Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Ensure estimating processes run smoothly and client expectations are exceeded.
• Build relationships with clients, designers and subcontractors.
• Facilitate collaboration among team members.
• Communicate with all stakeholders effectively.
• Lead the Estimating team including assistants and MEP estimators.
• Develop in-house budgets and GMPs.
• Prepare quantity take-offs and apply unit pricing.
• Review project scope with design team and owner.
• Lead value engineering and risk analysis.
• Manage subcontractor solicitation and selection.
