Job summary

Hill International seeks a Senior MEP Estimator to join our East Coast team. This role focuses on accurate quantity take-offs and calibrated estimates through design stages, from conceptual to CD. You will lead electrical and mechanical estimating, review third-party inputs, and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
• 15+ years in construction, with 10+ years in mechanical estimating; electrical estimating preferred.
• Experience in schematic, conceptual, DD and CD estimating.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, contracts, and cost coding systems (CSI MasterFormat/UniFormat).
• Proficiency with estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff, WinEst or Destini.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical and mechanical estimating expertise across a variety of project types.
• Perform quantity take-offs from SD/DD through CD.
• Prepare unit costs for electrical and mechanical divisions with organized detail.
• Review third-party estimates for adequacy and completeness.
• Evaluate vendor quotes and manage change orders.
• Solicit subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Collaborate with architects and engineers for clarifications.
• Develop and review value engineering estimates.
• Lead project meetings and assist with subcontracting planning.
• Mentor junior estimators and oversee take-offs.
• Maintain proficiency in estimating software.
