Job summary

Wainwright Talent Partners seeks a Senior Mechanical / MEP Estimator to lead preconstruction efforts for complex projects. You will develop strategic estimates and coordinate with operations, project management, subcontractors, vendors, and leadership to pursue opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have deep mechanical systems expertise, regional market knowledge, and the ability to lead multiple project types including healthcare, higher education, laboratories, utility plants, and commercial

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
• 15+ years of construction estimating and preconstruction experience, preferably in the regional market.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems across complex environments.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Sage, and On-Screen Takeoff (OST).
• OSHA 10 Certification preferred; certification required upon hire if not active.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with leadership to evaluate opportunities, bidding strategies, and pursuit planning.
• Lead preparation and review of detailed estimates for mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Review final estimate packages for completeness, accuracy, and competitiveness before submission.
• Develop detailed system estimates from narratives, drawings, and design documentation.
• Create bid invitations and develop scope sheets for mechanical trades.
• Support procurement and vendor engagement during preconstruction.
