Job summary

Shipbuilders of Wisconsin seeks an Engineering Manager – MEP to lead the MEP Engineering Team on shipbuilding projects in Manitowoc, WI. You will own the engineering process, drive build readiness, and ensure regulatory compliance while partnering with manufacturing and supply chain.

You will develop engineering talent, reinforce Lean principles, and set standard work to deliver on-time, high-quality designs with minimal rework.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing, shipbuilding, or complex assembly environments.
• Minimum 3+ years directly leading engineering teams.
• Lean / Continuous Improvement experience required; certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the MEP engineering team, including design, electrical, piping engineers and drafters.
• Ensure build-ready designs with proper sequencing and regulatory compliance (ABS, DNV, USCG).
• Drive Lean/CI transformation and daily management on the shop floor.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, supply chain, QA, and program management.
