Job summary

Burger Boat Company seeks an Engineering Manager for MEP to lead the design and execution of mechanical, electrical, and piping systems on complex marine projects. You will manage internal engineers and external partners, drive standard work, and ensure build-ready designs that meet schedule and quality expectations.

Ideal candidates bring a strong Lean/CI background, hands-on leadership on shipbuilding or heavy fabrication, and a proven ability to integrate engineering with manufacturing,

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years of Engineering experience in manufacturing, shipbuilding, or complex assembly environments.
• Minimum 3+ years directly leading engineering teams.
• Experience implementing Lean / Continuous Improvement systems in a production environment.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and translate design intent into execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead the MEP Engineering team and external partners to deliver build-ready designs.
• Drive Lean and continuous improvement to reduce rework and costs.
• Ensure regulatory compliance (ABS, DNV, USCG) before production drawings.
• Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Cost/Schedule teams for on-time delivery.
• Develop bench strength and succession planning for engineering talent.
