Job summary

GForce Life Sciences seeks a Consultant, Senior Mechanical Engineer for a Fortune 500 pharmaceutical client in New York. The PE will oversee MEP/FP and critical equipment systems across major capital projects from design through closeout, including BMS, HVAC, plumbing and fire protection.

The role requires leading design teams, coordinating with project management, and ensuring compliance, safety and cost control on complex lab and vivarium facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years in an MEP engineering role.
• In-depth knowledge of building systems for life science labs and vivarium projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, SharePoint and Bluebeam Revu.
• IWMS system experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist PM team in developing budgets and schedules for design and construction projects.
• Document MEP/FP requirements in the Owner’s Project Requirements.
• Perform due diligence explorations of existing MEP/FP systems.
• Develop scopes of work for design professionals, construction managers and contractors.
• Coordinate with engineers, vendors and contractors to resolve issues and deliver solutions.
• Lead design teams through bidding, field coordination, commissioning and closeout.
