Job summary

Aperture LLC is seeking a licensed, experienced MEP Professional Engineer to lead forensic investigations, design remedial MEP solutions, and manage multidisciplinary teams on complex projects in the built environment.

The role includes client relationship management, business development support, expert testimony, and delivering high-quality technical reports across facilities such as data centers and healthcare, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical (or electrical) Engineering is required.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in mechanical, electrical, or controls-focused environments.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license with ability to obtain additional state licenses; NCEES Record preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical building systems and building codes.
• Knowledge of control systems, I/O configurations and building automation.
• Experience in data centers, healthcare facilities, oil & gas, or manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret specifications and drawings related to electrical, control, and mechanical systems.
• Lead and perform forensic analysis of MEP systems.
• Conduct field investigations and site visits.
• Prepare MEP calculations and technical reports.
• Provide expert testimony in depositions, mediations, and trials.
• Design MEP systems and remedial repair solutions.
• Review submittals and ensure code compliance.
• Perform QA/QC of BOMs, SOOs, wiring diagrams, and related documentation.
• Utilize MEP analysis software and Bluebeam.
• Travel as required.
