Job summary

Leighton Asia is seeking a high-calibre Design Manager (MEP) to lead design management and coordination for data centre projects in Thailand. You will act as the main liaison between the construction team, external consultants, and the client’s design team, ensuring design integrity and constructability from development through execution.

The role requires at least 10 years in MEP design/design management, strong MEP knowledge across electrical, cooling, fire protection, plumbing and building

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in MEP design, design management, or coordination.
• Experience in Design & Construct projects with consultant and contractor exposure.
• Good knowledge of MEP systems for data centre projects.
• Familiarity with Thai laws, regulations, and standards for design and construction.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary link between the construction team and external design consultants on MEP matters.
• Coordinate with the project team and client’s design team on MEP items.
• Manage design development and project execution for data centre projects.
• Provide direction on design approach, schedule, priorities, and deliverables.
• Engage with site engineers to incorporate constraints into the design.
• Review and resolve design queries and ensure constructability and accuracy.
• Support tender activities with input on buildability and value engineering.
• Conduct on-site inspections and monitor compliance with drawings and specs.
