Job summary

MBP is seeking leaders in the design and construction industry to support the delivery of complex projects and programs in the Washington/Baltimore DC metropolitan area. The role requires 10+ years of combined experience and advanced knowledge of MEP systems for laboratories, data centers, or secure facilities with SCIFs.

Duties include pre-construction and on-site owner representation, managing cost, schedule, and quality, and leading QA inspections to ensure contract compliance.

Qualifications

• High school or GED plus 15 years of related experience and/or education.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field, plus 10 years of related experience.
• Occupa­tional safety: OSHA 30-hour certification or obtain within 3 months of hire.
• Working knowledge of basic mathematics and field measurements.
• Construction-related training or equivalent experience demonstrating job ability.
• Knowledge of codes, materials, methods and tools used in construction, repair or renovation work.
• Preferred certifications include CQM, CCM, Journeyman or Master certification/licensure.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-construction and on-site owner representation for medium to large-scale construction projects.
• Manage cost, schedule, and quality on behalf of the client/owner.
• Lead or participate in progress meetings and document minutes.
• Perform QA inspections to verify work complies with contract requirements.
• Document and track issues and coordinate with contractor and designer to resolve them.
• Review change orders for entitlement and price and assist negotiations.
• Coordinate commissioning agents and third-party contractors.
• Oversee punchlist, acceptance and closeout activities.
