Job summary

McWane Ductile New Jersey is seeking a Senior Melter Spare to support the melting department by maintaining and repairing furnace equipment for safe, efficient production. The role includes cleaning and rebuilding tap holes, slag systems, ladles, and runners while ensuring daily measurements and safety compliance.

Pay ranges between $27.96 and $90.96 per hour, with responsibilities spanning start-up, operation, and housekeeping across the melt deck.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-2 years of relevant industrial, manufacturing, or foundry experience preferred.
• Must be able to comprehend and perform all departmental tasks as outlined in Job Instructions and Work Instructions.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety rules, procedures, and environmental requirements.
• Maintain required certifications and training including lockout/tagout, confined space, and fall protection.
• Perform manual labor tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs and operating tools such as chipping guns and rammers.
• Clean and maintain slag and iron handling equipment to ensure proper function.
• Chip, repair, rebuild, and maintain tap holes, slag notches, and related components with correct measurements.
