• Some experience in foundry operations; training in furnace operation.
• Training in metal testing and hazards risks and emergency response procedures.
• Knowledge of temperature requirements of various metals.
• Ability to read and follow instructions provided by lab.

Responsibilities

• Receive instructions on weights and alloys to be used.
• Start furnace.
• Add alloys to metal.
• Test metals with probe for readiness and composition.
• Control furnace.
• Operate forklift or overhead crane to move materials to furnace.
• Pour metal from furnace to ladle, and from ladle to molds.
• Lean furnace.
• Charge furnace for next day's work.
• Reline furnace for coil and chamber operation.
• Pour metals as needed.
• Maintain punctuality and attendance per company policies.
• Follow safety rules and procedures.
