Job summary

Johnson & Johnson MedTech is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in the Navigation R&D team, based in Boston, MA or Warsaw, IN. You will architect features, develop on-device clinical apps in C#/.NET, and build cloud-backed services for telemetry and command routing, all within a regulated medical device context.

You will lead a Scrum team, mentor engineers, and ensure secure, scalable software from design through release, aligning with IEC 62304 and FDA guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 7+ years of relevant software development experience.
• 2+ years leading a Scrum team as software technical leader.
• Experience in Medical Device or MedTech preferred.
• Strong proficiency in full-stack C#/.NET development and OO design.
• Experience with API development and cloud service integration (AWS).
• Experience in regulated environments: IEC 62304, FDA cybersecurity guidance, traceability and V&V.

Responsibilities

• Architect major software features/enhancements with detailed execution plans.
• Define development timelines in product planning sessions.
• Build production-grade on-device clinical apps and services in C#/.NET for Windows and iOS; integrate with cloud services.
• Develop multi-threaded components and REST APIs with scalable architecture.
• Apply secure coding practices for cybersecurity and patient safety.
• Create cloud backends in Azure/AWS for telemetry and fleet operations.
• Drive software quality via tests, profiling, observability, and CI/CD.
• Contribute to regulatory documentation and participate in audits and submissions.
• Collaborate in Agile/Scrum; mentor engineers and lead design reviews.
