Job summary

Johnson & Johnson MedTech is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Navigation R&D to design and deliver production-grade software for on-device and cloud platforms using C#/.NET. You will work in a regulated setting, collaborating across teams to ensure quality and compliance, and mentor junior engineers.

The role is based in Boston, MA or Warsaw, IN, with responsibilities spanning software architecture, API development, and regulatory documentation in line with IEC 62304 and FDA guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in CS/Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• 7+ years in software development; 2+ years leading a scrum team.
• Experience in Medical Device/MedTech is preferred.
• Strong C#/.NET full-stack development and OO design.
• Experience with API development and cloud services (AWS preferred).
• Regulated environment SDLC knowledge; documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect major software features and delivery plans.
• Define development timelines in product planning sessions.
• Build production-grade on-device and cloud apps in C#/.NET for Windows and iOS.
• Develop concurrent, multi-threaded components and REST APIs.
• Apply secure coding for cybersecurity and patient safety.
• Build cloud backends (Azure) for telemetry and fleet ops.
• Drive software quality with tests, profiling, and CI/CD.
• Contribute to regulatory documents and FDA submissions as needed.
• Collaborate in Agile, mentor engineers, and lead reviews.
