Job summary

PowerSecure, a Southern Company subsidiary, seeks a Master Service Controls and Medium Voltage Technician to provide on-site and remote support for distributed energy projects. You will travel with an independent work structure, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot medium voltage equipment, and support commissioning and safety standards.

Responsibilities include reviewing diagrams, coordinating subcontractors, and maintaining tools and reports.

Qualifications

Fifteen years of field experience servicing generator systems and power distribution.
Eight years hands-on medium voltage experience.
Experience with medium voltage electrical systems and safety procedures.
Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawings.
Ability to mentor technicians.

Responsibilities

Daily travel with independent work structure.
Provide 24x7 on-call services as requested.
Maintain Battery Storage systems and other alternative energy systems.
Perform required preventative maintenance service to equipment under contract as scheduled.
Customer contact and interface.
Use of electronic and electrical test equipment as necessary.
Coordinate and manage on-site subcontractors as needed.
Complete paperwork including Field Service Reports and Time Sheets timely.
Provide technical support to customers.
Own and maintain personal set of mechanical tools.
