Job summary

Merrimack Health is seeking a Lead Medical Technologist to support the Core Lab Supervisor and act as the department contact in the supervisor's absence.

Ideal candidates will be skilled across chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and serology/immunology, with a strong background in high-complexity testing and quality control. This role requires leadership, training ability, and adherence to CAP, TJC, and state regulations.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of hospital laboratory experience.
• BS in Medical Technology or equivalent required.
• Ability to function across core lab disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Function in chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and serology/immunology areas.
• Perform high-complexity testing and adapt methods for different ages.
• Conduct quality control, instrument checks, and troubleshoot issues.
• Notify care units or physicians of critical lab values.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records for statistics and billing.
• Lead in supervisor's absence and collaborate with the manager and pathologist.
• Provide training and participate in department improvements.
