Job summary

Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH is seeking a Lead Medical Technologist to perform and supervise a broad range of lab tests across multiple sections, ensuring accuracy and patient safety. You will train staff, oversee quality control, and support instrument implementation in a busy hospital lab environment.

The role requires leadership, strong technical proficiency, and the ability to coordinate annual competency checks while maintaining compliance with CAP and Joint Commission

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field.
• ASCP Medical Laboratory Scientist certification required.
• 5+ years of experience as a Medical Technologist is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of routine and specialized medical laboratory diagnostic tests in multiple technical areas (Transfusion Service, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Serology/Molecular).
• Assist the Technical Section Supervisor with training, quality control implementation, instrument assessment, and competency evaluations.
• Record and report test results to nursing units and physicians, while maintaining instrument calibration and preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot procedures, participate in quality improvement activities, and act as a technical resource for the lab and hospital staff.
• Lead in the absence of the supervisor and participate in CAP self-inspections and related accreditation readiness.
