Job summary

Southeast Medical Group is seeking a Medical Technician with Chemistry/IA and Hematology experience for a high-volume laboratory. Experience with QuidelOrtho Vitros and Sysmex equipment is a plus.

The role supports lab operations, diagnostics accuracy, and patient care, and requires adherence to OSHA safety standards. The position is full-time, with emphasis on safety, documentation, and teamwork in a healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Educational requirements: Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science, biology, or chemistry from an accredited institution.
• Licensure/certifications: ASCP or AMT certification.
• Current BLS certification required or to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Basic computer literacy, including data entry and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assists in specimen collection and processing, labeling, centrifuging, and preparing samples for testing.
• Label, process, and transport specimens with proper chain-of-custody.
• Prepare lab equipment, reagents, and work areas; sterilize instruments per standards.
• Maintain equipment records and daily work logs; enter data into LIS/EHR.
• Follow safety protocols and monitor biohazard waste; handle PPE and inventory.
