South Shore Health is seeking a part-time Lab Tech/Technologist to perform chemistry and hematology testing in our Weymouth lab. The role requires maintaining quality control, reporting results, calibrating instruments, and ensuring specimen handling meets safety standards.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in a relevant science, with a 1-year internship preferred and MT (ASCP) or MT Eligible status. This position supports our SSH Lab Chemistry team in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in relevant science.
• One year clinical laboratory internship preferred.
• MT (ASCP) or MT Eligible (ASCP Equivalent) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs tests according to laboratory protocol in chemistry and hematology.
• Reports results timely and verifies accuracy before reporting.
• Maintains quality control and notifies supervisor of discrepancies.
• Maintains instruments and performs calibration as scheduled.
• Troubleshoots equipment and reports issues promptly.
• Adheres to universal precautions and PPE requirements.
• Participates in orientation and training of new staff.
