Job summary

Providence Centralia Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform bench duties across multiple sections (Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Chemistry, Microbiology, Molecular, Mycology, Immunohematology, LIS) with a Bachelor’s degree in MLS or equivalent and clinical experience.

On hire, candidates may need national certification (ASCP/AMT). This full-time, on-site role offers excellent benefits and a strong team in the Pacific Northwest.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in MLS or related field with clinical rotation.
• Alternate pathway with chemistry/biology degree plus MLS program.
• Alternative pathway with specified credits and at least 3 months of clinical experience.
• National certification upon hire (ASCP/AMT).

Responsibilities

• Plan, perform and evaluate laboratory testing analyses.
• Establish and maintain communication with physicians, patients, and hospital staff.
• Perform routine and complex tests across sections such as Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Chemistry, Microbiology, and more.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science from an accredited college/university that included clinical rotation

Bachelor's Degree in a Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science AND completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Science program

Bachelor's Degree with completion of 60 semester/90 quarter hours from an accredited college/university that includes a minimum of 6 semester/9 quarter hours of chemistry, 6 semester/9 quarter hours of biology, and 12 semester/18 quarter hours of other chemistry, biology, and/or medical laboratory science courses AND at least three months full time clinical experience in all laboratory areas
