Job summary

UW Health in Madison, WI is seeking a Senior Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Technologist – Molecular Diagnostics. The role is 80% FTE, part-time, Monday–Friday days with rotating weeknight/weekend/holiday call requirements; hours may vary by department needs.

The position includes a $6,400 sign-on bonus (pro-rated by FTE) and additional compensation opportunities such as shift differentials and relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology with 60 semester hours including 24 hours in MLT or science.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in laboratory science or medical technology with 60+ hours including 24 hours MLT or 24 hours chemistry/biology courses.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing in the clinical laboratories (any complexity).
• Perform advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and problem resolution.
• Demonstrate strong decision-making skills, ability to work independently, and the ability to take on teaching/training responsibilities as needed.
• Work as an effective team member with physicians, clinic staff and coworkers.
