Job summary

Intermountain Health in Murray, Utah is seeking a Medical Technologist/MLS Advanced to support the Chemistry laboratory with advanced technical duties, quality control, instrument maintenance, and regulatory compliance responsibilities.

This role participates in proficiency testing, assists with supervisor duties, and leads new instrument evaluation and standardization initiatives while maintaining bench competency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory/medical technology or related science from an accredited institution
• ASCP certification or equivalent required and maintained
• Two years of clinical laboratory experience required
• Flexibility to work varying shifts including weekends/holidays/nights/on-call
• State licensure requirements where applicable (MT) and foreign transcripts if needed
• Experience leading staff training and education preferred
• Experience leading department initiatives preferred

Responsibilities

• Participates in proficiency testing entry and regulatory compliance
• Leads inventory control
• Supports supervisor with personnel duties (training, competency assessment)
• Supports technical duties (AMRS, Correlations, recalls, instrument troubleshooting)
• Leads and assists with new instrument evaluation and implementation
• Develops and refines policies and procedures
• May lead work groups and standardization initiatives
• Maintains bench competency and shift coverage as required
