Job summary

Serco is seeking a Medical Coding Auditing Specialist to support the Defense Health Agency’s MCPB. You will perform routine audits across DHA markets, develop annual work plans, and conduct targeted audits of medical coding and documentation in various facilities.

This role requires seven+ years of coding/auditing experience, strong CPT/ICD knowledge, and familiarity with government guidelines. Travel to CONUS/OCONUS sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of ICD-CM, PCS, HCPCS, CPT.
• Advanced understanding of PPS, DRGs, APCs, RBRVS.
• Strong medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, disease processes.
• Experience with revenue cycle management and coding audit concepts.
• Familiarity with CMS LCD/NCD, NCCI, IOMs and OIG publications.
• Knowledge of CDT terminology and dental coding.

Responsibilities

• Perform audits of DHA MTFs and dental clinics.
• Support annual DHA-MCPB audit work plan creation.
• Conduct targeted coding and documentation audits as directed.
• Assist in government surveillance of DHA medical coding contracts.
• Provide education and documentation for qualification packages.
